My best choices art piece named CHOICES XD
As for the last piece which I named it Choices, I refer the
artwork from 2 artist, one is Jesse Reno and the other one is Casey Mcglynn. I re-do
the artwork to fill in the whole paper because Mr.Deepak said that my previous
artwork is too plain. So I eventually used my hand size to draw on the A4
paper, then I implement the previous idea on the artwork. At first, I wanted to
separate the hands, but at last I just crop it and tried to combine like what I
did for the previous sketch. Then, I implement the “Rules of Third” for the
design layout to make it more interesting. Then I started with thickening the
outline. For the background color, I actually followed the reference artist
background because it looks more like a road color with dirt which represents the
obstacles that we’ll meet along the life. The stars is actually representing
traffic light on the road junction which means we have to think about which
road to take when we reach there. I used light cyan color on one of the hand to
represents the starting of our life where we followed majority to make our life
choice. The red color hand is actually represents the choices that we’ve made
and go towards it. In the middle of the hands, I actually merged the color to
show that we’ve slowly made our mind towards our choices. I add on white sharp
teeth effects on the red hand to say that some people sometimes addicted to
what they do and drowned inside without realizing that they’ve lost their
purpose. At the other side of hands I also drew people who eventually slipped
down from their own choices because they followed fame, ranking or money too
blindly. Lastly, I do the same as the other artwork where I add on the layer of
canvas.

2nd design of Artsy
For the second artwork, I didn’t use the food culture
sketches because I don’t know how to elaborate much with that piece. So I changed
it to artwork called Double Sided. For this artwork I based on a references
artist called Sara Kovanda, she’s actually a musician and based on her artwork,
she is said to drew her arts with full emotions and raw expressions. She likes
to use basic color RBY in her artwork, so I also use it. For the first stage, again
I started with my sketches, the middle part represents the head of a person. I call
it double sided because when people talk, they sometimes didn’t really meant it
and they tend to say the other way round. For the teeth part, I use sharp teeth
to represent the person who always talk bad about people. For the non-sharp
teeth part, it represents a person who always cares about the way they are
talking. For the snake-like shapes, it’s actually the words that came out of a
person’s mouth. Eventually, people nowadays tend to be both. I started with
thicken the lining of main character. Then, as referred to Sara’s artwork, I used
yellow as head background to emphasize the main character. I then used red
color for the good part as normally warm color represents positive. As for the
bad part, I used cold color to represents negative elements. I actually spent
most time on the snake-like part. For the good part, I drew a lot of pattern
using thin stroke brush tool to represent the words that were said, it means
that we carefully said out the words so that we won’t hurt any people easily. I
zoom in the artwork to make it easier to be done. For the bad part, I simply
drew the pattern on the snake-like drawings to represents a bad emotions that
were used when we are talking, I also put the sharp teeth at the end of each of
it to represents the hurts that others felt through our words. For the eyes
part, I used the positive and negative color that represents good and bad mood
because sometimes when we’re in a good mood, or bad mood, we might also talk
something bad or good. Other than that, I just play along with the color to
make it more creative. Lastly, I apply the layer at the back to make it more
like canvas draw.

Last minute art piece :D
After few weeks of experimenting the
photo shop, I still don’t quite understand how to really use it, but I just
simply press any options in the toolbars to use it. I actually asked help from
a friend of mine who is studying in Dasein Academy of Art in the process of
making these artwork because as the due date came nearer, I have no idea on how
to finish my artwork. He guided me along the way including the changes that I made
in the sketches and he actually lend me the Wacom tablet as it’s similar to
hand drawn stroke. The Wacom tablet make my work easier to be done completely. I
also change the sketches to be made and can be seen even if the artwork is
placed upside down.
Back to the sketches, the first
one that I modify is the day & night sketch. Based on the reference artist
is Julie Stenner, she’s not a very famous outsider artist but I just like her
design. Her artwork that I refer most is the face series type. For this Day
& Night artwork, you can see that in the middle of the sketches is a table
and a bed that I combined together. Both faces looks numb because they are
tired of their own daily life. For the first stage of coloring, I drew a thick
outline to make it easier to be colored as referred to the artist. After that,
as guided by my friend, he teaches me to use the complementary color harmony on
the artwork. For the morning part, I use blue-ish green for background and warm
orange as the face and the sun’s color. It’s also implemented in the night part
of the artwork. After I put the background color, it’s actually looks too plain,
so like what my friend advised, I just draw something behind it and at the same
time enjoy playing with the Wacom tablet. Then, like my previous sketches, while
the guy is doing work, he wanted to sleep and while he wants to sleep, he
actually thought about the work. So, I used the transparent layer on the side
of toolbar and changed the opacity to suit the background. For the last part,
to make it more to a real canvas arts, I actually applied the texture on the
background using the layer tool.
